Opening Prayer
Lord, teach me humility; you save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty -Psalm 18:27 (silent reflection) Prayer of the Bible Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Selah Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion. -Psalm 84: 4-7 (Free expression of praise and thanksgiving to God) Confession of Sin Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Have mercy on Your Church, and on this world around us. Come Lord Jesus, come and forgive, cleanse, and restore us. -A2J Community (Time of silence for confession of sin) The Words of Jesus And Jesus went about among the villages teaching. And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in their belts but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics. -Mark 6:6-9 (Think deeply on these life-giving words of Jesus) Prayers for Ourselves and Others The Lord says, before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. -Isaiah 65:24 (Time to bring before God our own needs and the needs of others) Closing Prayer Jesus, you have called us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything you have commanded us. We realize that this call may lead some to go overseas but for most of us it means to make disciples of those we interact with on a daily basis, our own families, our neighbors, our co-workers and all those God allows to cross our paths.
