Opening Prayer
Behold, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher like him? -Job 36:22 (silent reflection) Prayer of the Bible Many peoples shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. -Isaiah 2:3 (Free expression of praise and thanksgiving to God) Confession of Sin Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. -Psalm 51:5-7 (Time of silence for confession of sin) The Words of Jesus And Jesus left there and went to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan, and crowds gathered to him again. And again, as was his custom, he taught them. -Mark 10:1 (Think deeply on the life and words of Jesus) Prayers for Ourselves and Others Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. -Romans 8:26 (Time to bring before God our own needs and the needs of others) Closing Prayer Jesus, the Lord, Jesus, the Son of God Jesus, the God-man Jesus, the True Person Jesus, the Anointed One Jesus, the true Teacher Jesus, the Savior May God, who became manifest in Jesus Christ, enlighten our minds, strengthen our wills, and fill our hearts with love. May God, the Indweller in our hearts, animate us with his life. And may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.
