Opening Prayer
Thank you God my Father for you have said that because my soul is precious in your sight, You have turned your eyes toward me and saved me. -A2J Community (silent reflection) Prayer of the Bible I will remember the deeds of the Lord; Yes, I will remember you wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and mediate on your mighty deeds. Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like your God? You are the God who works wonders; You have made known your might among the peoples. You with your arm redeemed your people, the children of Jacob and Joseph. -Psalms 77:11-15 (Free expression of praise and thanksgiving to God) Confession of Sin Forgive me O Lord all my sins, for you are rich in mercy, because of your great love for me, made me alive with Christ even when I was dead in transgressions; it is by grace I have been saved. -Ephesians 2:4-5 (Time of silence for confession of sin) The Words of Jesus But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him, “Then who can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” -Mark 10:24-27 (Think deeply on the life and words of Jesus) Prayers for Ourselves and Others God, here I am, at your disposal, your child. Use me to continue your loving the world, by giving Jesus to me and through me, to each other and to the world. Let us pray for each other that we allow Jesus to love in us and through us with the love with which his Father loves us. Amen -Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997) (Time to bring before God our own needs and the needs of others) Closing Prayer Worthy of praise from every mouth, of confession from every tongue, of worship from every creature, is your Glorious Name, O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: you created the world with your imprint and by your compassion you saved it. To your majesty, O God, ten thousand times ten thousand bow down and adore, singing and praising without ceasing, and saying Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of hosts; Heaven and earth are full of your praise; Hosanna in the highest -Nestorian Liturgy |
