Opening Prayer
Jesus help us to remember that your hands also bind and heal, and help us to count it all joy to bear fruit for you. Amen -A2J Community (silent reflection) Prayer of the Bible Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah -Psalm 61: 1-4 (Free expression of praise and thanksgiving to God) Confession of Sin Loving Lord, you tell us that whatever wrong we have done you tread down our faults to the bottom of the sea. Lord, you love all that you have made, and it is your very nature to love and forgive. Lead us to be generous in accepting and forgiving others in the same way as you accept and forgive us. Amen -Nicholas Hutchinson FSC (1954-2015) (Time of silence for confession of sin) The Words of Jesus Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.” -John 11:24-27 (Think deeply on these life-giving words of Jesus) Prayers for Ourselves and Others For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives -Colossians 1:9 (Time to bring before God our own needs and the needs of others) Closing Prayer “Everliving God, whose will it is that all should come to you through your Son Jesus Christ: Inspire our witness to him, that all may know the power of his forgiveness and the hope of his resurrection; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
